Terefe/Whitecross

'With the second outing in more than 10 years from this songwriter duo about to be released, you can hardly call Terefe/Whitecross prolific.

The one and only gig in Los Angeles in 1997 also seems like evidence of the bands deep reluctance to appear in public.

Nick Whitecross (leadsinger of Kissing The Pink and collaborator with Jem, X-press 2 and A-ha), along with Martin Terefe (writer/producer known for his work with KT Tunstall, Ron Sexsmith, Cat Stevens, Jason Mraz, James Morrison) released the orange album in 1996 and the follow up "From Here To Helsinki" is being finally made available ten years later.

"From Here To Helsinki" was written in a taxi drivers flat in Prague in the autumn of 1999. Martin and Nick where attending a gathering called Forum 2000, arranged by Chech President Vaclav Havel and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellie Wiesel. Leisurely guitar strumming at the end of each day became ten songs under the influence of Prague nightlife, religion and politics.

Back in London an album was recorded with Swedish producers Claes Bjorklund and Andreas Olsson. Six years later the album will finally be released this fall and rumours of increased activity from the band are circulating......
